Since a lot of people, including Amy and Rad, have asked me if I would post some of my music that I write I'll be posting the lyrics to song's I create. For those that don't know: I'm the lyricist, lead vocalist, and lead guitarist for my band. We do Alternative, Metal, and Rock. I do some screaming vocals, but I don't do a lot.

Anyway, if you care to ask me other miscellaneous questions about my band, or my guitar or vocal style or something like that, please do it by PM or Instant Messenger. With that out of the way, here's the first one I'll post. I wrote it yesterday and it's named "Firefight"

It's a battlefield of love out here
Protecting all I've got, all I hold scared
For what it's worth, is it worth it at all?

Roaming these streets, I've seen it all
Seen young men fall, watching this despair control all that I know
Said to myself "Is this what I really am?"
"Put your armor back on, your still a man"

I like that song. I'd like that to be recorded and played on my computer if it's good enough .

That's one I'm pretty sure we will record and put out on our demo when we get it all set up. They want me to do some screaming on this one, and it might fit...so I'll see. The parts are all pretty intense. I kinda was a spaz with my guitar part but the drummer played an equally spaz-tastic drum part so it actually combined for a really good outcome.

Have you written any new songs? Or did your band ever record a demo for "Firefight", or for this other song that you posted last year, called "Battle Scars":

P.S. I have some feedback on "Firefight". The ending is a little messed up. The song ends with the protagonist speaking of the "firefight" as though it has ended;

So here we stand with the blood on my hands...
...I fought my fight. What more can I give?

Yet after he says this, the song goes back in to the chorus, which is about a firefight currently being waged;

Load your guns. It's time for war...
...Get ready. It's time for a firefight

Unless this oddly out-of-place repeat of the chorus is there to imply that the war is never-ending, it just seems to throw off the ending of the song and not make sense.

I'm raping my thread to let you guys know I have a couple more songs I've written. I just need to put them on my computer. But here's one of the more recent ones I've written, named "The Real Me". It's a break from my bands sort of heavy style. It's more of one of those one person kind of reflective/emphatic songs, I guess if you would put it that way.
