Okay, okay. I'm applying a different new concept instead of storyline changes.

Music. Ninty failed on TP's music due to a rush, but this time they've had four years to work on it. I think they should have orchestrated music, not made. I'm sure some music pieces would be better with a few edits, but for the majority of the songs, orchestrations. I bet most of you will agree, if not all.

And since Nintendo isn't being rushed, they have more time for quality music. TP wasn't bad, but it could've been better.

Opinions? Orchestrated? Made? What?

I don't care if the music is fully orchestrated or MIDI or whatever else games use, as long as it's good and done well. As I've said on other forums, I don't care whether music is completely new, like in ST, or if it's mostly remixes, like in TP. As long as it fits the mood of the game, I'm fine with it. TP had great music that I still listen to, whether they're remixes or not. Same with ST and MM, which are almost filled to the brim with musical originality. The only reasons that I'd prefer MIDIs over live orchestrations, is because it's easier for the game to switch between music that way and orchestrated music isn't very noticeable compared to MIDI music with good electronic instrumentation. I've beeen playing Super Mario Galaxy and am yet to really notice the music outside of the start screen and the starship area.

Now that my spiel is done, please understand that I am mostly neutral on the topic of music. And for those of you who skip to the end of long posts, I was mostly cussing out the administrators and hailing Ganondorf for all the great things he's done to Hyrule.

...I did kind of forget to mention that. Yeah: as long as the music is good, no quarrel here. Usually, orchestrated sounds better to me.

Or we could just get Shigeru to play a riff and make it the final boss's music.

I started playing SMG2, and I must say it redeems all of the low points of SMG's music, so far. I now want orchestrated music for Zelda. Though, I have to say that electronic music lets them use more instruments... Great, I just neutralized myself, again.

Orchestrated is fine, I guess. I don't normally think much about that, but I guess it can't really be anything but a plus. Certain songs for certain moments it might not fit as much though, like darker dungeon settings.

I want Zelda Wii to take more of a cue from The Wind Waker and Majora's Mask for music. TWW music had beauty, with amazing and catchy tunes. MM music had a mysterious, unique air. Both combined, using elements of one or the other in the right moments would rock, or just go with one or the other.

While I liked many songs from TP, overall I agree with you that the soundtrack was weaker than it should have been. :<

Orchestrated would be nice.

As long it's not the same-melody-in-every-song like Twilight Princess had. The music in that game was so damn repetitive.

I'd say Orchestrated, although some "made" music, as you put it, can sound almost as good. At any rate, high quality music is really important, to me at least. The soundtrack of Bioshock had a huge impact on the overall game, and this holds true for almost all games.
