I would like to see several new and old things back in this game. I would like to see some amazing music, much better than ST. I also don't want to be like 30 tracks, I want there to be a crap load of new and amazing sound tracks.
I also want there to be a large overworld. This is one thing that Zelda has been lacking for the last few games. If we look back at TP's overworld, we all thought it was just amazing. Now that we look at it, it is fun to travel around, but it is limited to certain things. In the new game, I want there to be an overworld that is like 5 times the size of TP's, and is completely open for exploration. I don't want to feel limited at all as to where I can and can not go.
Another thing is the amount of sidequests. In the past Zelda game, PH, I felt that the sidequests have died down a bit. There was quite a few things that you can collect as well as hidden islands, but none of which were really fun to collect, or even go to. In ST, we finally had the sidequests come back, and they came back hard. There was a ton of new things that you could do with the train and it seemed like the sidequests would never end. I want this feeling to be back in the new Zelda game for the Wii. Also, I want a trading sequence to be in this game. PH had one, but it was pretty lame. I want it to be like MM and OOT's. Those were some of the best ones in the series.
One of the things that has been very limited in the past games was the amount of dungeons. I want there to be a load of them. At least 10 of them would be a lot better than ST had. I feel that the more dungeons a game has, the better the game will be.
In the past games, we have had many unique versions of items. I want there to be several of those items to come back in the new game. I want the versions of the Arrow, the Fire, Ice, Light, and even Bomb arrows to come back. I wouldn't mind seeing Rock's Cape make a way back as well.
That's about all I want in the next game.

The first mistake I saw was the Roc's Cape idea.
It would be kind of hard to animate Link jumping HIGH in the air then do it again, it just wouldn't look right in the style that they're making.
It'd feel awkward.

Gotta put in my 2 cents about a few things, some opinion, some fact:
I would like to see some amazing music, much better than ST.
ST HAD amazing music. A lot of fans have said it has one of the best soundtracks in the series and made up for PH's...well, subpar and small soundtrack. Although yes, they need to keep up with the trend of amazing music. PH was just lazy in the soundtrack department.
I also don't want to be like 30 tracks, I want there to be a crap load of new and amazing sound tracks.
ST had a crapload, TP had a crapload...the only small soundtrack lately has been PH. Also, ST and TP both had TONS of new tracks.
I also want there to be a large overworld. This is one thing that Zelda has been lacking for the last few games.
True, however, when you look at TWW, PH, and ST, they had large overworlds, just presented differently to make them seem smaller in comparison. And in all honesty, that type of overworld was fitting for those games. Now games such as OoT and TP...are built upon wide, non-transportation, walking around and exploring, overworlds, so obviously those games would suit it better. I'm pretty sure it's going to be the console-handheld split. Just how the handhelds are continuing TWW trend and storylines, I'm pretty sure they'll continue to have the 'transportation' overworlds while the console games have the on-foot exploratory overworlds like OoT and TP. Not a bad deal if you ask me.
If we look back at TP's overworld, we all thought it was just amazing. Now that we look at it, it is fun to travel around, but it is limited to certain things.
True. And while I don't exaggerate it like most do, TP did also have a somewhat lacking of things such as sidequests, secret areas, caves, etc. Something that you can find all over the place in OoT and MM. I used to roam Hyrule and Termina fields in OoT and MM for hours, just finding things, hidden areas, hints and ****. TP was bigger, sure, but it lacked in that exploratory, hidden element. Honestly, I think it was because they were putting more of an action emphasis on the overworld. There were DOZENS of bulbins and junk, but they neglected to opening up the overworld in favor of more combat. I think the next game should have a nice balance, as I did enjoy horseback combat (my favorite thing about TP actually, to be honest), but I don't want an empty overworld either.
Another thing is the amount of sidequests. In the past Zelda game, PH, I felt that the sidequests have died down a bit. There was quite a few things that you can collect as well as hidden islands, but none of which were really fun to collect, or even go to.
I somewhat agree. One thing I didn't like about both PH and ST was how they not only limited your maximum health down to 16 hearts, but they no longer had heart pieces, instead going for heart containers, something we haven't seen since the simplistic days of the NES (and it wasn't a hardware issue, as TMC had 20 hearts AND heart pieces, and many other sidequests, and this was on the GBA). That's one of the many examples of limiting of sidequests. The minigames were few and far between in PH, and most just...weren't great. I never really did like how they changed the hauling up treasure thing from TWW into an unnecessary minigame in PH.
In ST, we finally had the sidequests come back, and they came back hard. There was a ton of new things that you could do with the train and it seemed like the sidequests would never end. I want this feeling to be back in the new Zelda game for the Wii.
Agreed. Though leave out the bunnies. While I do love ST and all of its sidequests, the bunnies just aggravate me. There's a difference between fun and annoyance, and challenge and aggravating. This one was annoyance and aggravating.
I also LOVED the mini-dungeons in ST. That's something I thought hadn't been done much in the Zelda series, besides maybe the training ground in OoT and the spider places in MM. But they weren't on the same level. I liked how some of these dungeons were built around certain puzzles. Like the one that was all based around the blocks. I loved that. It wasn't insanely hard, but it made me think. A lot. Also, the ice one made you test your reflexes. Just things like that. I thought they were nifty. We need to have more mini-dungeons in the Zelda series unique like these, and not just about killing 50 floors of enemies or collecting spiders.
Also, I want a trading sequence to be in this game. PH had one, but it was pretty lame. I want it to be like MM and OOT's. Those were some of the best ones in the series.
Agreed. Want to know what's sad? I didn't know about PH's trading sequence until just a few months ago, long after I've owned and beaten the game, when I randomly stumbled upon it online. I had gotten those hero's clothes, but I thought they were a joke or easter egg from PH. There was never any indication of a trading sequence, unlike OoT or MM, or even the Oracles.
One of the things that has been very limited in the past games was the amount of dungeons. I want there to be a load of them. At least 10 of them would be a lot better than ST had. I feel that the more dungeons a game has, the better the game will be.
Ehhh. Not exactly true. PH had more dungeons than ST per se, but when you compare them, they are a lot blander, straight-forward, etc. It's a matter of quality over quantity. Take Majora's Mask for example. That game has 5 main dungeons, and is pretty short in the main quest. But all the dungeons are memorable, unique, have their own challenges, and are fun to play through.
And ST had quite a bit. Especially when you factor in all the floors of the Tower of Spirits, and all the mini-dungeons too. ST wasn't too short, but it wasn't spammed of dungeons either, and all its dungeons were unique and fun to go through.
Believe me, I'd love more dungeons same as the next guy, but I want them to be quality first. That's another reason why I hate it when fans complain about the games being delayed, because if they have more time to work on it, that means we get more dungeons and more quality. And who doesn't want that?
In the past games, we have had many unique versions of items. I want there to be several of those items to come back in the new game. I want the versions of the Arrow, the Fire, Ice, Light, and even Bomb arrows to come back.
Agreed. I gotta say, I was shocked to discover that they put the bomb arrows, a simple easter egg long-forgotten from LA, into TP, but no elemental arrows. While we're at it, I (and I'm sure many other fans would too) would love to see the return of the magic meter.
I wouldn't mind seeing Rock's Cape make a way back as well.
That's not really...fitting for the 3D Zeldas. It would just feel goofy. I love the Roc's Feather/Cape in the 2D games, but in the 3D games, we have the hookshot, longshot, clawshot, grappling hook, or hell, even pressing forward to make Link hop to get us across areas.
Although, if they ever make a 2D Zelda again, I'd love to see the Roc item(s) make a return. Who knows, maybe Nintendo will pull a Megaman 9/Sonic 4 and make a classic Zelda on Wiiware or something.
