GoNintendo has posted information supposedly from the September issue of Nintendo Power. The information covered game ratings, DSi/WiiWare recommendations, notes on an interview with Hideki Konno (Developer of 3DS), and information pertaining to Skyward Sword.
“The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
-Zelda confirmed
-no comment on Ganon
-Possibly using the Beetle in racing challenges
-Says Voice Acting wouldn’t fit in the series
-Miyamoto hasn’t upended the tea table…yet” – GoNintendo
Some questionable stuff there. For example, ‘Miyamoto hasn’t upended the tea table…yet’. Could this be referring to his retirement from the series, or an anger towards aspects of the game not working?
~~ Note: Remember, the issue is not out yet, so this information should be treated as a rumor.
Well according to Zelda Dungeon it will have a early 2011 release, but Portal to Hyrule, our brother site, says otherwise, giving the information that Skyward Sword will be out in late 2010, but however, doesn’t give a source to the information. That leaves me to ask will Skyward Sword come out in 2010 or 2011? I’m leaning more towards a 2011 release however.
Edit: Sorry. PTH has said it was just something humorous and someone has pointed out an error in the post.
Originally found on Zelda Informer, another interview with Eiji Aonuma has surfaced talking a bit more about Skyward Sword. Information about the game is the same, but two things in the video interested me:
Link doesn’t just go down from Skyloft to Hyrule just to save it from danger, but as well as searching for an invaluable friend.
The typical field, dungeon, and field again formula has changed and that some fields work similar to that of dungeons.
Found on Zelda Universe who got it from GoNintendo, NZGamer’s Sam Prescott was able to have an interview with Eiji Aonuma. The Interview mostly discussed about Skyward Sword, the newest Legend of Zelda game, as well as other general questions for the Legend of Zelda Series.
I shall post the first question, but click on more to read the rest of it.
NZG: My first question is about the story in Skyward Sword. What details can you give about the story as it stands now?
Aonuma San (via Mr. O’Leary): Well, you saw the trailer this morning, and the presentation. The final scene is Link jumping off those cliffs and diving through the bank of clouds, and that’s a very key element behind the story in the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. This time around, Link is living on a series of floating islands above the coulds, and that land is called Skyloft. Link lives in this floating land, and it’s his natural world, so he doesn’t think there’s anything strange about living above the clouds. One day, an incident occurs, and he discovers that beneath the clouds is another world, and that world is ruled by an evil force. And the thing that leads link on in his adventure and guides him is the titular sword – the Skyward Sword. When the sword is leading Link and helping him do things, it actually transforms into a human figure. [In] the artwork revealed at E3 last year, that was the figure that was in that artwork. So basically the story evolves in his travelling from Skyloft to the land below, and back and forth, as he is lead by the Skyward Sword. As he travels, the story of how the land below came to be ruled by these evil forces is revealed. Read more…
I think it is safe to assume that we’ve moved onto the new host successfully so we need to update our information for Skyward Sword. Now all this information has been posted on other Zelda sites such as Zelda Dungeon, Zelda Universe, and Zelda Informer, so I’ll credit them in each post. I don’t want to pick favorites and post only from one site, so I’ll be posting from all three. I’ll post the first bit of information for now, but you’ll need to click on “Read more…” below in order to see the other information.
GameInformer gives Skyward Sword the Best of E3 for the Wii Category
First off at Zelda Informer, they have said that Skyward Sword has gotten the E3′s Best of Wii award from Game Informer.
“Everyone knew we’d be seeing a new Zelda title this year, but that didn’t take away any of our excitement for it. After some unfortunate technical hiccups during the Nintendo presser, we were thrilled to find that the game handled like a dream. Considering the only other Zelda on the system is essentially a Gamecube port, it’s great to see a built-from-the-ground-up adventure made just for the Wii.”
You can see the list of Best of E3 awards and their winners here. Read more…
Oh Nintendo! how you spoil us this year! According to a forum user on ZT named Qnez, there is now an Ocarina of Time game that WILL be released for the Nintedo 3Ds. He linked to the article he found it at here. A release date for it has not been set, but it will probably be out when the 3Ds comes out as well. What is seen in the screenshot, although little, is what looks like a rendition of the Soul Calibur II Link
According to Zelda Informer (which I really doubt now are telling the truth), information about Zelda Wii has leaked from a translator who works for Eiji Aonuma (or something like that). With that in mind the information was posted on a German-base board, but the topic was then removed soon after (I sense a lot of doubt). Zelda Informer has said on their site that the information is 99.9% true (I’m betting on the .1%). With that being said, here are the newest batch of rumors:
Zelda Wii’s official title is “The Legend of Zelda”. There will be no subtitle.
The game tells a story several hundred years before Ocarina of Time.It also answers the question of how the Mastersword came into being.
The fairy-like girl plays is a very important character in the game. Her Name is Zordiana.
The Hookshot is also in the game and it has new abilities. It will not pull you immediately to the target you aimed. Now it is possible to swing with the Hookshot, like with the Grappling Hook from WW. The Hookshot makes no use of Wii Motion Plus.
Sometimes you have to “draw” a specific symbol on a door with your sword, to open it.
The Bow-Control is very similar to the Bow-Control in Wii Sports Resort, as the script shows.
There are two levels of difficulty. Aonuma put it through. Miyamoto didn’t want to include it.The Normal-Mode for amateurs. The Hero-Mode has no “Super Guide” included and the enemies tougher.
The On-Stage Dungeon, which is also playable at E3, isn’t a Dungeon as we know it from the Zelda series. When entering a Dungeon, you will not notice you are in one. It will be a smooth gradation. There will be Dungeons with no Bosses and Bosses with no Dungeon. The “Dungeon” you are able to play at E3 will be an Ice-Level. It will be the frist “Dungeon” in the Game.
All of these are STILL BOUND TO BE RUMORS so be careful and don’t always assume they are true. I am still skeptible and I think this was merely a way to get more hits.
“Nintendo will be showing the still-unnamed next entry in the long-running Legend of Zelda series, a Wii game that it revealed only in concept art form at last year’s E3 expo. The new Wii game will make use of the Wii MotionPlus controller add-on. Will it also make use of Nintendo’s other new peripheral, the Wii Vitality Sensor, for a real shake-up? One thing’s for sure, Nintendo’s expecting it to be “perfect.”"
If it is as perfect as they say, I expect to see some great reactions to the game come E3… And even then I want to get it more. …Need to get a Wii first >_<
Lots of news from Zelda Informer. First thing is first from Zelda Informer: Apparently Reggie Fils-Aime joined Twitter today and he has said that he has played the Legend of Zelda Wii demo. Confirmed as fake as of June 3rd, 2010. Second from Zelda Informer is that Nintendo.com is going to stream E3 2010 on their site. You can view their stream when it comes up at their E3 Portal.
