The question has been rolling in my head for quite sometime, and only recently did I decide to really try and jump into the subject at hand. To some, the recent advancement of technology has been “scaring” a few Zelda fans, some going even as far as to say that it’s changing Zelda too much. With the addition of a steam boat to Phantom Hourglass and even a train in Spirit Tracks, one begs the question if Zelda is indeed advancing too quickly, or is it mostly nostalgia which is turning Zelda fans away from new advancements? Let us further dive into this discussion with somethings in Zelda we seem to have overlooked over the years, and see if Zelda is really advancing too quickly, or is it where it should be.

The recent titles of the Zelda series have fallen into a cycle of sorts. Each game presented a new gameplay aspect but brought several problems along with it. To fix these, the next game would attempt to fix the problems of the previous title. Most of them succeeded, but they brought along their own set of problems and letdowns. Nintendo’s hype of Zelda Wii is giving the fans high hopes for the new game.

The Zelda series has existed for nearly twenty-four years and in those twenty-four years, Ganondorf has often stood as the prominent antagonist in the series. But one must ask the question: “Is Ganondorf really all that powerful”? To the left of this post you see the Beast Form of Malladus, the final boss in Spirit Tracks, a being who was so powerful that he was sealed away in the Dark Realm. Could Malladus’s strength rival that of Ganondorf? Or is it that Malladus is stronger than Ganon without the assistance of some powerful mystical item? Today marks the end of the 2000 decade, and the beginning of the next year and tens decade. Celebrate, or whatever! It’s also apparent that this previous decade was a heck of a decade for Zelda (thanks ZU/ZI for the reminder). We’ve gotten most of the Zelda games that decade alone–consider us lucky! On top of all that, we’re lucky to have a Blue Moon on this date (northern hemisphere only?).
Celebrate, or whatever! The only celebratory thing I do is take a shower for the heck of it. >.> (I’m posting this early for those guys in the boring EST time zone.)

According to IGN, apparently Nintendo plans on offering a new WiiWare demoing service sometime in the future. For now, they’re testing it to see if things go well.
If it does, it may see a release sometime in the future. Just for the record, this doesn’t confirm anything, but even so keep your eyes peeled for updates!

Twilight Princess was released on the Wii’s launch date, both on the Gamecube and the Wii (as a launch title). The game was grand on all levels and it had everything fans always like to see in a Zelda game: Exploration, adventure, heart-stopping moments, and even epic boss fights.
